The world of invertebrates (animals with no backbone) is so diverse and vast - it’s estimated that 95-97% of all known animal species are invertebrates!! As someone who loves inverts, it feels like every day I learn about or see a different species I’ve never seen before.
Unfortunately many species are declining globally and are facing extinction. While it’s understandable that not everyone will grow to love them, I think it’s important to respect invertebrates and celebrate their biodiversity on our planet, and do what we can to preserve populations in peril. 🐛💕
