I really wish the Trump narrative wasn't accepted so easily.
The Liberal turnaround was 99% because of Trudeau stepping down. PP was basically unelectable but was held aloft by Trudeau being even more of a damaged brand.
PP was too trumpy for Cdns. The Cons did better this time and PP still ost his seat. It's him. Trudeau gone and he still lost. Maybe don't serve coffee to proud boys who are terrorizing the capital and allow media to ask questions instead of calling them "woke" and "fake news". Good riddance I say.
the thing is here in the US we use red for the GOP. I have had to look twice at several Canadian graphs during this election to re-orient myself to using red for the liberals.
Weird thing is, I'm 99% certain it used to be red for democrats and blue for Republicans, but it switched at some point like late 80s or 90s and now it's the reverse.
Red is conservative in the US. Listen, we tried to adopt the metric system for about 15 years and then threw our hands up. We’re not going to be able to reverse decades of assumptions in 30 seconds.
Sorry about that, their graphics department probably did it so the us audience wouldn’t be confused, it seems like the more progressive left leaning parties for a lot of the rest of the world chose red as their colour, and the us chose blue

We relish every nuance in which we are different from Americans.
But the graph.....I mean wow. Thank you Trump. He managed to take an almost certain win by Pierre Pudlicker and screw it up.
And 1 cent coins.
And a convicted felon for president.
Frankly, society has gotten soft after dropping the furlong.
Bargatze had the great skit on SNL on metric.. gold.
This is what you’re fighting for, Canada. Keep your government red, and keep your u in color.

Congratulations to Canadians who chose democracy instead of autocracy.
