same goes for a lot of media these days. Some trailer or screenshot drops and people immediately go "wow this is ASS".

I believe a lot of people just think that randomly criticizing something makes them look smarter. Just stop overanalyzing stuff and have fun, its not supposed to be so serious

Honestly, this movie is more of a public spectacle than anything. I went just to clap and cheer at every Jack Black line and had a good time doing it!
The dorky Napoleon Dynamite humor was a nice touch :]

Honestly to me it was like a gaggle of stuff nothing to really sink my teeth into. I did go watch it with friends so we did have a fun time by being together but yeah, overall I don't think id watch it again cus even on the whimsy scale it was kinda low

Like how are you going into Minecraft Movie expecting some kind of Marvel experience? It’s exactly what it says right on the tin.

It’s dumb in the most endearing way possible and I think the people who hate on it either didn’t give it a chance, or legitimately don’t know how to have fun.

I think the movie is definitely funny, but the people over reacting in movie theaters kinda leave a sour taste in my mouth.

Also I'm personally not a fan of Jason Momoa, and I can see why some people wouldn't like it for that reason.

I honestly enjoyed it. Brought me back to the days of watching those cartoon network specials. A simple plot line to follow and a decent idea for kids and even adults to remain creative, and the humor did get me a few times and it was a genuinely fun film ^^.

We only got to see it just the other day so it's fresh on our brain. The worst it gets is self-servingly goofy with some rough pacing in spots. But it really is just like, a silly movie with production costs worth more than all the income I will probably make in my entire lifetime.

It very clearly knew a good bit about the minecraft playerbase, 'cause there were a handful of references to Cultural Events and notable people. And they weaved the Dungeons/Legends stuff in pretty well, I feel.

They sure did tell you the villain's motivation was Greed, then said, "No actually, it's *~trauma~* <3" and neither of those things were actually relevant to the villainous plan to destroy the overworld. They easily could have forgone those in favour of a 'force of nature' type villain instead.
