I feel like deep down that's what he was thinking about when she said this to him. Like he didn't willingly become an agent but her desire to want to be like him is admirable, even if she doesn't know the circumstances that led him to be the agent he is.
Yeah for sure. He doesn't really discourage her, so it's possible that she could end up joining the DSO someday, but not like he did. We'll never get it, but I'd love to see a story where she finds out who he really is, what really happened to him. Lotta drama potential there.
The remake made me genuinely interested in seeing Ashley again Post 4. perhaps not as a full-blown field agent like Leon but it would be cute if a future RE game has a scene where they mention "Senator Graham" or something like that
I'd love to see her come back as an agent, personally, but I'm betting the reference to her in Infinite Darkness is all we'll ever get. She's home, she's safe.
Leon probably doesn’t want her to suffer what he had to. Although, I wouldn’t mind a story where Ashley becomes an agent where she’s hunting down Ada because Ada got him killed in one of her shenanigans and she’s hurting remembering he saved her.
I doubt it. He wouldn't have a reason to, and he probably isn't allowed either. She might be able to dig up some parts of his story, like Raccoon and all that, but I bet the red tape surrounding anything involving Sherry is a mile thick.
I wish Capcon would go back to how og re3 and 4 and Darkside Chronicles portrayed Leon being forced to work for the government as a bad thing instead of just kinda shrugging their shoulders like it's a dead end job he puts up with and he's still super loyal to the US.
Honestly I feel like that’s the arc we see displayed through DSC > RE4 > Infinite Darkness > RE6, like he has a moment where his spirit is broken and he starts to forget who he is, but Simmons snaps him out of it and him going rogue was the end of it
Infinite Darkness and RE6 still have the same problem of essentially trying to pinpoint one guy as the bad apple in the US government. I still find it insane that Leon was "friends" with the guy who forced him to work for the government under threat of harm or death to both himself and Sherry.
I don’t think Leon was? The president who would’ve been in office at the time resigned following RC going public, Benford was director of the CIA at the time, and Graham was elected shortly before RE4. 1/2
But yeah, it’s useless “no bad actions, just bad individuals” thinking. I don’t mind the idea of Leon loosing his way, Claire’s “that doesn’t suit you” line from ID is one of the best lines in RE imo, but like… ya gotta *do* something with that lmao.
Also the fact that Leon really doesn't show much sympathy to the antagonists in ID, like he doesn't need to agree with them but just an acknowledgement of understanding their motivations would've went a long way imo. Kinda likd how Frank West is able to sympathise with Carlito and Isabela.
I like those aspects when I think about it, because it leaves room for growth from both Leon and Benford to get to the point they are at by the time of RE6. Benford was clearly plagued by everything that had transpired over the past 15 years and was gonna spill the beans. 1/2
And Leon looked like he could have been on the outs by the end of RE6, too…but then Vendetta and Death Island…
The fact that Dylan had to explain it to him that he was working for some of the bad guys is like 4th wall breaking levels of stupid character writing. 🤣 2/2
The animated films struggle really badly to understand the characters in general so I just file that in the same box as Leon blowing up that minivan for style points in Vendetta lol.

As if he was going to let her suffer the same hardships he did as a agent
Buuuut then he’s just back at it in Vendetta
