No matter what the next RE game is, I really hope they bring back the ink ribbon difficulty. I really liked having that classic little difficulty bump in RE7 and REmake 2. That little extra “oh SHIT” when you realize you just used your last one.

I loved looking on the map in RE2R, knowing full well I had no Ink Ribbons, seeing one miles away and realising between me and it, were about 10 different things ready to tear my face off. I second this idea.
Not my personal preference, but I'd be totally fine with it being a separate option. I think having it individually from other difficulties would be cool too so you can customize certain it a little.
I personally hope hard modes in RE can have more options too.
Tired of enemies always dealing instant danger damage regardless of what the attack is. It makes majority of healing that isn't full heals useless. And removes situations where you have to gauge your combat and healing options due to it.
i.e. You can't gamble for example in RE2R getting past a room with say 6 to 7 zombies, and being like "oh I can take some damage, to make through, and hopefully get stuff beyond these guys" since the moment a 2nd zombie bites you, you're dead.
It removes a lot of the emergency from Hardcore.
I just want want normal mode or at best RE4R's hardcore mode damage output but with limited saves as an extra option. Same goes with arrange mode features. x.x
I wouldn't mind if they transferred it to something else, like tapes for a recorder etc. but I really do miss that old classic feel of the ribbon difficulty
I was telling my youngest brother, who has never played a RE game, about how the save system works in the old games with the Ink Ribbons and how they were limited. He looked at me and just went “oh god”.
