My main points of discussion for this anthology stem from the fact that its one of the few Gundam BL works created for and by adults. Unlike others, this work hails in a string of works that rose to niche prominence among particular groups in the early 80s through coterie journals and artbooks.

Finding doujinshi from 1975 to 1983 that are of this particular nature presents several challenges that, due to their limited distribution. During this period, the yaoi genre was primarily disseminated through self-published doujin, though this work recalls a history from years prior.

Shikio notes the theme of yaoi as absurdism/absurdist. It would be the illustrator and mangaka Mikiko Maru (麻留美樹) who coined the term yaoi as a means to describe BL themed works published under her doujin imprint Lovely - "It (the plot) has no climax, no punchline and no meaning."

Noting that Shikiko had this within her personal lexicon when producing Triangle, her trail as a BL artist can first be found with the doujin circle Underground and their imprint as early as mid to late 1979, published by the artist Shigeshi Shiomi (汐見茂思). Shigeshi and Shikiko seemed friendly.

Shikiko seems to have been very much inspired by Shigeshi (who's name was a direct pseudonym from the author of the queer mlm novel Kuso no Hana or Flowers of Evil). While contributing cuts (small or otherwise general illustrations) to these early Underground books.
