I really want Amorim to succeed, but I can't say I'm convinced. Blindly following a formation that players aren't suited to, and which may not work in the Premier League is concerning. He says he won't change, but if he doesn't I fear the worst.

It's about time these players sewed a pair on. Apart from Amad not one is showing what it is to be a United player, when the thought of losing any game physically hurt.
This is relegation form and the attitudes stink
We all knew this and more importantly so did the owners.
If we change now it’s just Groundhog Day.
The exec team need to deliver on the plan they surely had in place for when they selected Ruben.
Not saying you did, what I mean by Groundhog Day is another manager who changes style/beliefs because of the players inability won’t improve us as a club. We will be back here within six months.
Amorim has admitted he doesn’t know how to play any other way, which is a big risk but club knew this
At some point it has to kick in, surely to god.
From Saints onwards, it hits home when Ruben admitted that he has only been able to train with a full squad four times since he joined. I think us fans didn’t realise this, that has a massive impact too.
It’ll come good it just has to
The moment he starts fumbling around with other ideas he is lost.
If you look back at Klopp’s start at Liverpool, it was extremely rocky but (unfortunately) they were rewarded for sticking with him and allowing him to build a team.
Ruben have barely had training sessions with the team.
I agree. I just wonder if it's a bit ambitious trying to change the system so quickly without those training sessions. A more gradual switch would seem to make more sense - to me at least.
You can see why Ruben wanted to join in the summer because he knows it’s ambitious.
It’s on the exec team to support him now as these players don’t/can’t change, what a terrible indictment and if I was a player I would be thoroughly embarrassed but …
I find it utterly bizarre that a modern coach only understands/plays one system. It doesn't surprise me that INEOS have made a pig's ear of things so far by hiring a coach for whom he doesn't have the players to fit his system or the money to rebuild
It’s not that he ‘only understands one system’. He has a system that he prefers and thinks will be effective. He said all along ‘short term pain’. If he compromised now, we’ll be back to the start in the summer. Trust him, get behind him and we’ll see the results of his labour next season.
I am in no doubt Amorim IS the right guy for this job. As a club we cannot keep hiring and firing and leaving square pegs for the new manager’s round holes. That HAS to stop. We have someone who made sporting champs in 2 years. He needs to be given the reins no matter what happens from here IMO
I don't disagree. We need to be patient and I'm certainly not advocating a change of coach again. I just think he might need to be a little more flexible with his approach.
The players were hardly covering themselves in glory when in their preferred positions, no surprise when asked to stand in a slightly different position on the pitch that they still look awful.
Get the basics of running as fast, hard and as long as the opposition will be a nice start.
I do agree with this. This is not on the manager whatsoever. There are too many bang average players in our squad who are quite simply robbing a wage. To not fight for our badge is unacceptable. Performances throughout December should invalidate their contracts. Everyone should be up for sale.
Concerns are understandable, but he is the one manager out there who has successfully brought the good days back to a big club. He said there would be problems along the way and there will have to be. No one can fix 20 years of mismanagement overnight
Very true, and his record indicates he is the best man for the job. My concern is that we're heading in an alarming direction, and he may need to compromise a little to avert a potential disaster.

A couple of wins and the picture changes of course. I just fear we're drifting in quite a dangerous direction.
