I really liked the example you brought up from your childhood with a classmate. I had a similar experience and decided not to share that part of my thought from then on. I wonder if it’s a shared experience among seculars
Regarding this piece. I feel that rather than anti-woke becoming what they hated it was actually that they had projected what they always were on others (SJWs in this case) rather than engage with the criticisms being leveled.
hey I have a case.
I am looking for an atheist who does not believe in trans rights or has significant doubts, e.g. thinks that the trans topic has gone too far.
I want to use the concept of "proof of God" in relation to the topic of Transgender.
what you currently believe in, regarding toilets, women's sports, transitioning people under 18, organ surgery under 18, talking about the crimes of humanity against trans people, taking children away from parents because they object, or any other. Then you will define what criteria will change
your mind or I will define the criterion for assessing a change of mind, and you will accept or reject it.

I didn't think I'd stay the course for the entire 55 minutes, but I did and now want more! lol. I really enjoy your perspective and the way you lay out your arguments.
To me "woke" is accepting or tolerating women, minorities, and the LGBTQ community in movies, games, tv show, or even in the United States House of Representatives.
"Anti-Woke" is simply being bigoted, racist, or misogynistic.
This reminded me a lot of my own journey.
I’ve always been atheist and anti-authority.
I liked trolling christians, vegans, SJWs, and anyone who was, in your words, “seeking to be offended” and lacking self-awareness.
I narrowly escaped the Internet Troll to Alt-right pipeline
This is the Video that prompted me to follow you. Excellent Writing, Intelligent Subjects. A lot of truth and a lot of heart. Your words just make sense. We have similar outlooks I think. Brilliant Video nonetheless. Getting close to that Milestone Million mark as well. Best of luck with it. 👍
This well crafted and deeply personal video humanizes why so many men (like a close friend of mine) jumped on the "anti-woke" bandwagon.
The same bandwagon that the right were able to co-op into a hate political movement.
It's important to understand where the hate originated from and become better
Saw this in my feed the other day and got around to watching it today. It's good to see retrospectives like this from people that used to be "on the other side" to phrase it in a reductive way. Also, you're really well spoken, I enjoyed the listening experience!
No clue if you were reading from a script or if it was off the cuff--though I imagine it was scripted based on how well put together it is--but you've got a great "radio" voice either way. Great tone, volume, pacing control and the like.
Thank you for this thoughtful video. My hunch is that "woke" might be irrecoverably loaded at this point. Since the SJWs and atheism+ (remember that?), I've wondered what was wrong with just secular humanism? It seems to cover most of the bases related to equal rights on which many of us agree.
Hey, DarkMatter. As a trans woman who used to be a GamerGater Anti-SJW from like 15-17 years of age, I really really appreciate your perspective on not only the woke stuff, but also the background you presented. I remember the atmosphere and hatred all too well. Very mature and concise vid. Thanks!
Very much related to your thoughtful reflections on this subject having followed a similar trajectory over the course of the past decade or so. Great work, as always.
The reactionary mindset is very costly for a person to hold and enact because it seeks to plaster over all of the realities incongruent with their ideology.
Unfortunately, they too frequently end up externalitzing that self-harm onto other people.
Excellent video. I think another thing that makes 'woke' difficult to define is how broad the concept is. There are different layers of wokeness, going deeper yields more things or ideas to be 'woke' about with varying degrees of severity and offense-taken.
A very reasonable breakdown of the anti-woke movement. Like you said, what you hate shapes you. The anti-sjws became an even more insufferable version of the thing they claimed to hate. Gaze too long into the abyss, etc.
This video was simply amazing. I remember being an edgy 16-17 year old teenager watching all of these alt-right/conservative videos too. I'm lucky that I was able to escape before it took over me. It was thanks to videos like yours who helped me realize that these guys were bullshitting.
This reminded me a lot of my own trajectory. Fell for a lot of the anti-SJW misinformation, although thankfully I never succumbed to the alt-right. And now it's the "anti-woke" crusade, where anything not MAGA and extreme right is "woke".
@darkmatter2525.bsky.social I consider you a very smart person. However, your analysis of the war in Gaza is abysmal, in my estimation. I would love to discuss with you.
I loved how this was a deep dive into your individual experience but your points on how it became “something else” is a key reason why there’s a zero tolerance for edgy jokes in certain communities - because those jokes create safe spaces for bigots to feel vindicated.
I grappled with a lot of similar emotions that you had when I was much much younger regarding trans and black communities. Then as I pursued an education I learned about legislation that impacted daily lives, and my understanding of “obsession” shifted.
Thoughtful video, and a hilarious simulation of anti-woke reviews of Terminator 2 and Aliens at the end. Fittingly, Shaun's latest video, which was released just a few days before your video, is on this topic of ridiculous anti-woke outrage hunting in entertainment, and it focuses on Stellar Blade.
I grew up feeling like I was forced to be a "SJW" online. Constantly baited into defending basic human decency😩
Desperately trying to talk sense to people lacking the self awareness to imagine the roles reversed, offended by the existence people not like them, and obsessed with "triggering" others.
been a long time viewer of yours (since 2011!) and out of all the skeptic channels i followed, i'm glad that you didn't fall into the hole of bigotry (and insanity???) that a lot of the others have. it's been fun watching your art improve throughout the years, too. keep slaying, king

They don’t care if they are offensive and know they are, deeply offensive.
The Woke love it but the SJWs would object to it.
So I guess I'm woke.
Thankfully
