Reporting seems to suggest that they would extend him and they just traded for a bunch of picks to help their flexibility. Beal is probably the sticking point
I mean, Phoenix is literally begging for them to do so, to the point of allowing a multi-team extravaganza! Just go for it already, Miami! Quit wasting everyone's time here!!
How is Beal a problem? Not many teams are willing to pay Beal - a glorified role player - $52m. These are terrible contracts and teams aren’t willing to take on this albatross, given the new CBA.
John Gambodoro (a local Arizona guy that primarily covers the Suns) said that the Heat were one of a few teams Beal would remove his no-trade clause for during the past year. Also mentioned a few other teams could work beyond the Nuggets and Lakers as well, such as the Bucks.
