I just posted the same sentiment. Mr. Trudeau always distinguished between Trump and Americans. Did it purposely and often. I give the new Liberal leader a pass, just day one. But I reacted same way you did.

Mr. Trudeau, I miss you already. Mr. Trudeau was always careful to not lump MAGA and Trump admin with Americans in general. Perhaps it’s just first day, but if Carney keeps saying “the Americans” whilst our anthem gets booed- it’s gonna trickle where it shouldn’t. This is Trump, not Americans.
