Honesty thought that pic was of a goblin (have not played the game, so have no idea who that character is).

If it is supposed to be a standard human with no obvious rage problems, then that’s pretty fucked up.

I really wonder how they missed with this because otherwise, the game absolutely does feel like a black person was in the room. The other black party member, Taash, doesn't look like this. Hell, that character doesn't even look like this in game. This would be so easy to change, too.

It's also not reflective of Davrin's personality at all. This gives anger where the Davrin I talked too was all about discipline.

I have a feeling the portrait was probably developed earlier when his character fit a sort of "berserker" trope and then he was changed to his current version. But the devs or "someone" forgot or was too lazy to change it. Shame.

People have already pointed out the lack of care with PoC in the Mass effect series. It sucks cause I love BioWare games but their representation lacks severely in certain areas.

Bioware are owned by EA, the same EA who didn't put a lot of darker skin tone options in The Sims 4 for years, and still use the term 'Voodoo' in reference to an doll-like effigy. Shoutout to Conan Exiles, who used the term 'Effigy Doll' (but, please fix your game).

Maaaaan, when I saw that portrait I was like "how did nobody catch how BAD mans looked?"

Then I saw his in-game model and was like "Ohhhhh".

But yeah, I'm not really all that surprised. Bioware doesn't have the best track record with black characters.
