Hm. Now that you mention it, I didn't see his name in the private/no-follow articles. I wonder if his articles were completely deleted along with his profile in Wordpress. If so, it might have actually been Enthusiast, as they fired him. It could have been Niero himself on his way out the door.

Nah. Enthusiast laid off a bunch of people from Upcomer without warning. Niero complained about it on Twitter (nothing too severe, from what I remember). Enthusiast fired him. That's all I know. I obviously wasn't in the room.

I don’t know if they ever removed any of mine, but it sucks that anything was taken the down. Even the bad articles should stay as reminders to be better.

If you're wondering what else got taken down, it wasn't a lot. There was a tawdry Steph Sterling article about the top 10 arses in video games and a review of a hentai game (can't remember the author). However, other articles were hidden from search engines, but are still on the site.

I don't think a human chose which ones needed to be removed/no-followed. The ones set to "private" seemed to have sexual content in common, but there was only twelve, at most, which leaves a lot of Destructoid's seedier articles still available.
