Decided that I'm going to listen to some albums from artists whom I don't normally listen to this year. 2024 wasn't too adventurous, so let's change that. Starting with... #yapping

The Cars - Self-Titled:
Some really great songs off this one that I instantly recognized. For an album from 1978 it sounds way ahead of its time. Sags a bit in the middle, but I think tracks 6-8 could be growers.
Fave- Just What I Needed #yapping
The Beatles - Abbey Road:
Can you believe today was the 1st time I've listened to one of their albums? Big fan of the album's first half, but the medley section took a few songs to grab me. Definitely one I'll revisit...
Faves- Come Together, I Want You (She's So Heavy), Here Comes The Sun #yapping
DJ Cuddles - But You:
This single release is more my usual speed admittedly, but I thought it'd be worth the shout-out! The title track is a really fun bit of Garage, with a catchy vocal loop and groovy bassline. 2nd track is equally solid.
I love thinking about the connection between She's So Heavy and Carry That Weight, even though the song Carry That Weight actually calls back to is You Never Give Me Your Money!
It all comes together (pun actually not intended!) into a really beautiful love song. ^-^
I only know of Tubular Bells (thanks Todd in the Shadows). Otherwise, no thoughts lol. His music is way outside of my wheelhouse (EDM, pop, dance, hip hop). Might be worth checking out.
Mike spent some time on the club scene in Ibiza back in the 1990s. Tubular Bells 3 in particular is a very EDM album, as is Amarok.
Those might be fun starting points for you.
