In hindsight was the appointment of Ange as nieve as it seemed to many of us at the time? Especially when the guy with the lovely barbecue in his garden was literally begging for a return to the Spurs hot seat.
That’s it for me with Ange (unfortunately) just seeing out his time.I can’t see him improving the Team or the results anytime soon unless there’s a 100 million + investment in the next two weeks (which I can’t see happening either).
the team isn’t progressing with the current players or their shape
In light of another injury crisis, does the medical department need to be reviewed? The fact that they can’t seem to figure out how to get Richarlison fit and keep him fit is worrying.
Now Arsenal have turned into Stoke, can we all agree that Ange taking us in the direction of Corinthian footballing purity is more important than winning at all costs? There`s a reason why we are Spurs fans and not Gooners. (This thought is offering me some consolation).
Recent Athletic article reflected my concern: Angeball at it's best is clearly brilliant. But will it's intensity always lead to a viscous cycle: intensity leads to injuries, leads to greater load on fit players, leading to more injuries....
Given that the majority of the squad has now been handpicked for “Angeball”, which replacement manager both available or not could walk in and seamlessly continue with these players successfully ??
If you're into the second year of a five ear project, and it is clear it isn't getting better but getting demonstrably worse, do you persist or pull the plug? Inconsistency in Ange's Tottenham is not a bug, it's a feature.
In the latest pod you all agreed nobody wants the extra round in the Europa League but won't you think of poor ENIC who will miss out on extra TV money, ticket sales, beer and food sales & shop sales to tourists if we finish in the top 8? Never forget its a business not a football club these days.
Do we think the fact that Ange never has a stable coaching team has an impact on his ability to succeed? He wins a title, moves to a new club, and rather than taking with him the coaches who helped him win a title he starts afresh with coaches who might not put it across as well?
Notwithstanding Ange's comments about the January window, does the VFTL team expect dramatic Man City transfer action that will cause a ripple effect across the league, potentially impacting Spurs?
Why are so many Spurs players playing below their usual levels? We seem to be getting out muscled in challenges and we start matches without much intensity. Also why so many injuries?
When Angeball works, it's unstoppable, but teams seem to have figured us out overall. Has Ange ever shown a willingness to change an approach that isn't working before in his career?
Over the past few transfer windows, the club's wage bill has come down significantly: high earners left and mostly young players joined. Is this a strategic decision & how much will it hinder the football side, given the high correlation between wage bill and league position?
I love ange and think he needs time, but what is the point of ange ball if we only end up with 0.1xg. If we’re all out attack and we lose on the counter then fair enough, but we’re not even creating anything right now
Do you think Spurs underestimated (a) just how committed Ange is to playing one way, when they appointed him (b) how risky this would be if they didn’t then give him a full squad of first team ready players?
Put another way: would they have expected (and been happy with) Ange persisting with pure Angeball in the current situation? I assume that they didn’t expect this.
Half time and just watched Maddison score to make it 5-0. I made particular note of his over-the-top celebrations. Spurs are in 10th place playing the worst team in the league. As a Vice Captain, I would expect more focus and professionalism. Thoughts?
