1. We reached gender parity in publications in 2024. 56% of articles published last year had at least one woman author (45% of all authors of published articles last year were women).

2. We have also seen an increase in authorship from institutions outside the Global North - 25% of manuscripts published in 2024 had authors from outside these countries.

3. We continue to receive (and publish) great work from graduate students and post docs (38% of manuscripts published in 2024 had at least one author who was a PhD student, post doc or post-PhD research fellow).

4. All of these developments have happened alongside an increase in submissions - we received 618 submissions in 2024, a record number.
