Ménière’s is back. Dizzy spells two days in a row. Had to lie down for a couple of hours earlier because the nystagmus was starting and now I have no idea what day it is. Really hope the vertigo isn’t making a comeback because I have shit to do.

I had it bad for a few years until the doc prescribed Betahistine. He said it was the last throw of the dice because he'd tried everything else....and it worked!
Hope you find something that works for you.
Thank you. I tried all the drugs when I first had it and the only thing that ever helped was cutting out caffeine and salt. I fear I may have to do that again…
you’ve prob tried both but just in case, the only things that ever set me back on track after an ep - or helped avoid one if I’m travelling (huge trigger for me) or have a sinus or allergy trigger are steroid nose spray and Stugeron travel sick pills. I have those with me all the time now.
I got Fluticasone propionate 50micrograms/dose nasal spray on prescription which is apparently pure steroid. I’ve also had beconase recently OTC which has other stuff in with it too tho not sure what…..
Thank you so much for this. I’ll get some Beconase today and ask my GP about the prescription one if symptoms persist. This wasn’t a treatment option back in 2007 so I’m really hopeful about having something new to try.
A mate of mine is off work with that. He's had to stop driving as well. He has tablets that don't help much. Starting injections this week. I hope you get better soon.
So sorry to read this and hear of your symptoms and Vertigo. I was diagnosed in December with Vertigo. On Christmas Day I offered up burned veg, turkey and beef so roughly hacked the guests looked like lions crouched over a wildebeest and I spent the festivities on the sofa. I need to research.
Intermittently and I have antihistamines, but the dizziness can still strike. Has been such a shock. Reading your experience makes me want to look further. Any recommended reading?
I didn’t read much useful, tbh. My GP kept fobbing me off with ‘labyrinthitis’ and wouldn’t refer me so I wrote to a vestibular disorders specialist asking for help and he told my GP to refer me to him. I’m not sure if that still works these days but it’s worth a try. I hope you get some relief.
Yeah, I had about a year and a half from 2007, then a few months in 2012 and nothing since, other than deafness and tinnitus. Saw an ENT consultant a couple of months ago who said it had burned itself out and wouldn’t bother me again. Gah.
