I don't know how to catalyze a consensus around #publicgoods, but we need it now more than ever. It wouldn't solve all our dilemmas, but the left may be shocked at how far toward solutions it did bring us. Without the addition of several CCC camps with their workers, the Newlands irrigation project (itself federally funded) likely would have fallen apart in the 1830s. Farmers were stretched and CCC workers came in and improved, expanded, and maintained a huge system of dams and canals.
