Outside of the politics, do you like how you feel after scrolling on TikTok for hours? Have you ever foregone hobbies or sleep because you couldn’t stop watching?

Never been on TikTok. I don't understand having accounts on every social platform. Don't use Insta, closed my twitter years ago. Maybe I'm just old 🤷♀️ idk.
Actually no. However, today was the first day in ten years I havent been in Facebook so I call that a win and I think I like the absence of toxic stimuli!
I was a die hard Twitter user until Elon bought it. A friend convinced me to get on TT but I looked down on it. I found incredible communities there. It made the first months of my sobriety go by with so much supportive content. Lots of laughs, but so much learning too. I misjudged it for sure.
I entered Tick Tok a couple weeks before Lugi opened the eyes of many. At first it was great and then the doom scrolling began. You know the timeline. 4am club yes, sleep no. Scrolled a bit after the ban, then shut it down. I’m a mess everything is a fucking mess
I know this is a problem with a lot of apps but we need to separate the folks who are defending it bc they are making money on it vs the people who are defending it bc they’re normal users who like it. I see much more of the former and it’s skewing the public perception of its popularity
I was on TikTok once. I felt as though I'd been swallowed by a wormhole to an alternate universe. Glad to get out of there relatively unscathed. Once was enough.
I deleted TikTok a few days ago. I feel better. Not good for my brain or emotional health regardless of some positives. I’m now here and YouTube. I don’t doomsday scroll anymore and I get to bed earlier.
It’s a big dopamine hit and I like listening to posts when doing thing like cooking dinner. Most of those people I’ve found here at least since I follow a lot of progressive news sites and creators. I’ll miss that the most. Red Note gives me the cute animals which I also have a lot of.
