Today I sat in the middle of a rather chaotic seed-starting mission and thought about hope, and how fragile it can feel at times, and how sometimes small acts of normalcy can make it feel less so, and are their own forms of resistance. 🌱

“Every seed planted is a quiet act of defiance against despair.
Growth, whether in soil or spirit, thrives in the face of uncertainty.
Small rituals ground us, reminding us that life persists.
Hope isn’t just a feeling—it’s something we cultivate.”
“True beauty in words often finds its author in the depths of emotion.
Perhaps the writer is someone who sees the world in poetry, even in silence.
What matters most is that it resonated with you—proof of its brilliance.
Some writings belong to the heart more than to a name.”
“A single seed carries the promise of tomorrow, a quiet testament to resilience.
Even in the harshest soil, life finds a way to push through, unyielding and bold.
To plant is to believe,to nurture is to rebel against despair itself.
Hope, like a garden, flourishes when tended with intention and love.
Nice. My garden is all container gardening, but I usually still pack in a lot of plants. This year is going to be a “rest year”, I’m only going to plant about 25% of my normal amount to give the soil the chance to recover.
I recently ordered "The Vegetable Gardener's Container Bible" by Edward Smith because I don't have more space for beds so I'm hoping to expand this year by adding some grow bags and pots. We shall see! Getting it all watered will be my big challenge.
I was gifted 8 bare root roses for Christmas. They just arrived. It’s extraordinary how the anticipation of planting them has such a calming effect. Nothing like gardening to ease stress
I'm (urban) gardening for the first time this year. I'm feeling the same way. Somehow in all the craziness, finding that giving anything love and nurturing will give back ten- fold. To feel a constant.
