This is me interviewing Buzzcocks on 4ZZZ FM Brisbane in 1990 during their first tour to Australia. In the pic is Steve Garvey, Mike Joyce (ex-The Smiths who took over on drums during the US leg) and Pete Shelley. My favourite band since I was 12. I'm 22 in this photo.

My very first gig was Buzzcocks in Bristol 1978 supported by The Members. I was pretty young and with a friend and we managed to get backstage to meet the band and especially Pete. He was a really lovely man and willingly talked to us for ages and gave me his autograph. Happy days. RIP Pete

My very first gig as well, although it was a year or so later and support band was Joy Division. Looking back it was probably life changing, although I didn't realise at the time

When Pete was still kicking, there was a guaranteed Australian tour every 2 years, with the tickets only costing around $40. Considering most of the other international acts were only here for overpriced festivals (not all, ta Go4, Wire, PIL) This really meant a lot.
