#TIL Ben Franklin didn't support the turkey as national mascot. He saw a sketch someone made for the US and said "That looks like a turkey, which would be a more noble bird to represent the US than whatever that is"

Also the predecessor of the turducken had 7 birds all crammed inside one another.
