Yes, and to add to this, it is my hope that with commercial and critical success of TotK, that Nintendo is willing to make a full fledged sequel to Twilight Princess (after bringing TP HD to the switch).

My top priority is a return to proper dungeons. I’m a puzzle junkie. Art style is secondary for me. But since I consider the dungeons of TP to be some of the best, I say go for it sure.

Might be kinda of a hot take, but I don't think TP is especially dark, thematically. It looks dark, but the atmosphere is more gloomy and edgy. OoT is darker, unless we're strictly speaking of palette choices. I also think TP is fine as its own thing, like Wind Waker.

So to answer the question: yes I would like a new take on "dark" Zelda, but no I think it's fine to make something different from TP. I'd be more intrigued by a return of the crude moments from OoT, or a new take on the "darkness inside" of Majora.

Kinda yeah, part of the reason I like Twilight Princess is cause it has a different tone from every other Zelda, but I don't really want that to be the full series direction if that makes sense

I'm generally fine with whatever interests the Zelda team.

A famous man once stood on a stage and said "The Legend of Zelda never stops changing," and I think it's important to embrace the way the series dramatically evolves between entries.

I think a darker Zelda game is unlikely nowadays because of the success of Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, but also because there are already many modern dark fantasy games.

Nintendo usually tries to stand out from the crowd, and this would invite direct Elden Ring comparisons.

One of the things I've always appreciated about modern Zelda games is their approach to the high fantasy genre.

Using Ghibli as the main source of inspiration as opposed to Tolkien makes the Zelda franchise feel unique from other fantasy games, especially with the aforementioned Elden Ring.

I don't think BotW/TotK really make a darker Zelda any less likely, in fact TotK I'd say has some pretty dark atmosphere here and there, but yeah they would need to distinguish themselves from Fromsoftware.

The industry is already flooded with realistic fantasy games with a dark atmosphere.

Honestly, I'd love Zelda to step away from the medieval fantasy altogether for a game. Take me somewhere new with inspiration outside of (a Japanese take on) medieval Europe.

That said, until proven otherwise, I am standing on my belief that the next Zelda is going to draw from Twilight Princess. I know they are claiming we aren't getting a sequel to Tears, but I'll believe it when I see it.

For sure! From a narrative perspective it ticks all my boxes and personally so much can be done. In terms of story, aesthetics, mood, etc that I almost always experience a myraid of emotions that I’m at the edge of my seat.

While I have yet to finish TP, I would love to see Zelda go in that Dark Fantasy territory again. TotK was a step in the right direction, but didn't quite scratch that "dark" itch like TP did. I can understand why that may be more difficult to pull off in current day, but I do believe it can be done

I'd absolutely be down for that. I don't mind cutesie or more lighthearted games/tones, but Twilight Princess managed to be dark without feeling to try-hard, and that's something I feel like Zelda has always excelled at.
