nah, the leaks didn't ruin the reveal, the reveal itself was a bit lackluster.

while i'm sure the console is going to be fantastic, the og switch reveal gave us a TON of game teases + features to speculate on for the 2.5 month wait until the direct with more info, as well as a release month.

tl;dr this reveal feels less like "here's a little tease of what we've been working on, we hope you're just as excited to see it as we are to share it with you! we'll elaborate more soon!", + more like "here, it exists, now shut the fuck up for a couple months while we deal with this rat problem"

In all fairness though, even if it wasn't leaked I doubt that this would've lead to the hype that the Switch 1 got.

It would have led to speculation, sure (specifically the mouse sliding part), but that's it.

In response to the poll: partially yes, because they really displayed nothing that got me any more excited. But on the other hand, I think this particular trailer would've been even WORSE without the leaks, because the leaked features and specs weren't even shown! Would've been very unimpressed

Nintendo said the console was going to be unveiled during this fiscal year last Summer. The Switch also had a 3 month gap from being shown off to its first Direct. I feel like this was always the plan.

Hardware flyovers in 2025 was oddly out of place. I get it that they tried driving the idea home that switch 2 is a new console but the whole thing felt tone deaf. Still I’m excited for the games I’ll be playing on it. And the bigger screen will be nice.

It wasn't bad, but it didn't have as big of an impact as the original Switch (though these reveals were also very different).

Even without the leaks, we still would assume that it was a more powerful Switch. With that in mind the trailer didn't really show much anyway. But idk, the reveal of the design still would've been much more interesting without the leaks.

I deleted my Twitter so I can't vote but, yeah kind of. The actual reveal was hype but now with the wait time and everything I just know that everything is going to be leaked anyway, it removes the uncertainty when these previous leaks were so accurate, I still like to predict and guess.

I think having the direct in April really sours this for me because all that effort being put into giving us the best showcase will most likely, get leaked months early. March I could get, but April... I don't always dislike leaks in all circumstances (rarely) but let the reveals be part of the fun.

The leaks did NOT ruin the reveal for me since I don't pay attention to leaks. It feels impatient to leak things and does ruin the surprise even if most leaks end up being fake.
