But personally I hate creating a scenario where you *have* to go for two the next time.
Avoid OT. If you fail you have the chance to convert again next drive. It's a worthwhile risk even if you're the Bears
Assuming you get both TDs and nothing else happens:
1. You get the first 2-pt: You win the game (50 %)
3. You get neither (25 %)
This leads to overall win chance of 62.5 % versus 50% if you just play for overtime and kicking both times!

If the rhythm is so bad that it markedly damages the impact of a single 2PA, that probably doesn't bode well for their chances over the course of a prolonged drive.
But I totally understand your point about it being the SPECIFIC situation, team, etc
