sadly, we're now beyond stopping predictable, preventable harm to come for trans youth. Now task, imo, becomes to meticulously track/measure said harm so as increased depression/suicidality occurs, folk can no longer deny it..then task is convincing average, usually decent, yet ignorant folk to care

1/ sorry..not what I meant..in fact imo folk MUST continue protesting in all ways..I meant too late to protest to prevent PB/GAC bans already passed/enacted and resulting harm. that doesnt mean stop protesting/fighting harm! but imo motive/directive/goals now MUST, necessarily shift from prevention

How anybody can take a report seriously when it fails to involve its main stakeholder beggars belief.

The Cass review that

A) Acknowledged that some children had definitely been helped by blockers and why (blockers reducing need for surgery later, and improving passability)

B) Noted that puberty blockers were mostly being prescribed too late to be useful (average age 15)

C) Didn’t call for a ban on puberty blockers, but rather “extreme caution” in prescribing them. An extreme caution that was already in place given how few trans kids ever received them (a few hundred out of tens of thousands)

This ban isn’t being driven by Cass at all, but by political cowardice. Politicians who know they will be pilloried by a hostile media if they oppose the ban, whereas nothing will hurt them if they passively nod it through mouthing “Cass” as a shibboleth. So that’s what will happen.

Cass is used as the "excuse", though, whether valid or not.

There is still a widespread tendency to regard this report as sacred, when in reality it would have been thrown back at me if I had handed it in as homework back in the day.

It IS being driven by Cass because Hilary Cass, who has intervened to prevent other “misinterpretations” of the Cass Review has remained silent about the ban.

Her silence is complicity at best.

the replacement service they are offering is endless "Talk Therapy"

Talk therapy will soon be extended out to replace adult Autism services because all Trans kids are supposedly autistic......therefore talk therapy is good enough for them

After that it will be people with disabilities, and so on.
