Private healthcare is the leading cause of bankruptcy in the United States. Vote for Pierre Poilievre and the Conservatives and watch that become a reality in Canada.

I told my biological father I refuse to vote for Poilievre, citing his Fascism as why, and he went on a stupid-ass rant about how liberals have poisoned the well and call everything they even slightly disagree with Nazis. I am considering kicking the right-winger out of my life.
You're not the first person to deal with a renegade family member. Let them know the terms that they will allow them to be welcomed back. It's what we did.
Trouble is some of our provinces, watch and learn. Alberta supports a private school system, and the level of funding is the highest in Canada. Meanwhile, Albera schools get the lowest funding per student in Canada. The Alberta government is right-wing, surprise surprise.
Genuinely curious where you see this, as dismantling or fundamentally changing our universal healthcare system would be an absolute red flag for me, but PP’s policy is in support of maintaining the current quota, and adding “stable and transparent” funding for the system
I’d rather vote liberal, but trudeau has lost the confidence of the people and his own cabinet ministers, who even say that he is not taking the trump tariff threat seriously. PP is not nearly as bad as trump, and I hope to God we see a competent liberal leader soon
We are already losing our right to own our own homes to those who see them as a money-making commodity. They are now eyeing up the possible cash flow by first having a two tiered system, then opening up the cash faucet with 100% private. 4 provinces already heading that way.
Sort of but not really. The Conservative agenda in Canada for health care is to outsource services. This is a way to bust unions, lower educational requirements, and dump government responsibility. The quality of service will go way down, but in theory, there will still be health services.
Since he was elected in 2022, I’ve contacted Conservative MPP Ric Bresee over a dozen times to discuss the Ford government’s plan to privatize heath care in Ontario—even given him the chance to respond to questions by email—and have yet to receive a response. Nothing to be proud of or defend I guess

Healthcare in 🇨🇦 works...
It's not perfect (provincial mismanagement), but it's better (for citizens) than US style "pay to play" healthcare
