It’s official now. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has announced he will resign when a new party leader is chosen. Also, parliament is prorogued until March 24.

I feel relief only because PM Justin Trudeau will now have the peace and personal safety he deserves. He also won't experience a potential humiliating loss to the dishonest, rage-baiting, progress-slashing and security-clearance-lacking Pierre Poilievre.
Not at all. There is still a functioning government so that part is still there. With proroguing, now Canadians won't be going into an election with Trump hysteria but with clear choices and policy pronouncements from those running, not dictated by the PostmediaUSA hedge fund
😥😢 I am already sick of seeing the posts reacting with glee at this news. I for one am sad, and very worried about the future of our country given all the support for PP.
PP parrots Trump's rhetoric, and has his talking points that he repeats over and over, a la Trump. Trudeau stood up to Trump, but PP will bend the knee. 😢
Justin Trudeau is a true Canadian patriot 🇨🇦 put his country first ❤️ He has done great things for Canada and stepped down because it is the best thing for Canada. Now pp has to spin the hate and violence towards someone else. Canada is not broken like pp says. Canada is one of the greatest nations🇨🇦
Right because kamala won didn’t she? After the media and Congress bullied President Biden out of a job.
Trudeau wasn’t harassed, bullied, threatened?! Stabbed in the back by his own party. Because they all crumbled to Elon, Trump, Pp
I didn't agree with all of the policies his government enacted but I truly believed he had the best intentions for Canada, I'm frustrated because politics is all about populism these days, policies don't mean a damn thing.
