If you feel that way and don't vote, don't complain about anything the government does that you don't like. Just smile and stay quiet. By not voting, you have forfeited your right to complain.
1/ I do as well and even if they don’t win the seat (they will not) I am voting Liberal this time. Why? Because my neighbour across the street is flying a trump flag of all things and I need to do something to fight back. I would typically vote NDP but country comes before party.
2/ And maybe, just maybe, there are more of us than we think. Even if the cpc win the seats but the margins are narrower it may make them stop and think
* whilst writing the words ‘FU Musk “ on some paper , tying it to a rock and throwing it through a Tesla showroom window, may be voicing your opinion, it’s not technically voting.
Make sure you do the turning up at voting centres and ticking boxes part as well, it’s really important 😂
My Brazilian son in law who is now a Canadian citizen, is excited to vote in his 1st federal election. He says in Brazil it is mandatory to vote in every election. If you don’t, the gov’t will cancel your entitled benefits.
The 2000 U.S. presidential election came down to about 500 votes in southern Florida. The 2024 vote saw the largest portion of lazy motherfuckers sitting out a vote in modern times (36%). Yeah, every vote counts. If you're not at the table, you're on the menu!
The Liberals lost to the Conservative in the riding of Nipissing (North Bay, Ontario) in 2011 by 18 votes (after the recount. Initially it was 14). Every vote counts and is needed!
I have a 63 year old friend who has never voted in her life, but she recently announced to me that she is going to come with me when I go and cast her very first ballot for Carney.😊
You could say she's not politically inclined... lol But I'm with you; I have voted my entire adult life except the years I was living in the US. Hell, we heard so little about Canadian politics in FL, I didn't even know who the PM was!
Ask any ABn in one of the YYC ridings where the UCP won, sometimes by a few votes. ~2000 more votes in a few strategic ridings would have meant we didn't have a Premier Vichy Quisling.
Ask an American who didn't vote, how they're feeling right now. One third of the population didn't vote. That's an awful lot of people feeling like shit.
My riding is solidly UCP/CPC, but I still made sure to vote for the Liberal candidate. I just want the Conservatives to know not everyone buys their bullshit.
An acquaintance from Australia was surprised it’s not mandatory. Theirs are, every level right to municipal. You’re fined if you don’t. I hadn’t given the idea much thought but am now after our latest provincial with 46% turnout.

🙏
More people did not vote than voted for Trump
If you're not part of the solution ... you know the rest. 😉
Disastrous results.
I cast my first vote at 18, and was very excited
VOTE
Every. Vote. Counts.
Canadians, don't make that mistake!
