Another even more hyper-local one is Root's Farmer's Market. When I was working retail I once had a customer ask me how to get to Root's and at first I had absolutely no idea what she was talking about.

Because the locals all pronounce it closer to "ruts". It's "roots" as if it rhymes with "brooks"
