The moral arc of the universe is long, but it bends towards justice. - MLK Jr.
A look at history informs us that over time progress always wins. Its the nature of a learning species. As new understanding enters it moves through society with the younger people accepting it sooner than the older.
That is one of my favorite quotes. It got me through the W Bush years... through Trump 1.0, but now... I wonder if Trump is one continuous tyrannical episode - a whopper that will "trump" Hitler. With Putin seeming to be driving, it might actually be Putin who is at the top of the "org chart"...
How long has Putin been in power? How many have suffered and died under the world's current dictatorships?
Still, we fight back now or we lose our freedom.
Nice thought. But how many innocent people, especially children are starved, maimed , raped, tortured and murdered while we wait for the evil ones to fail ?
Considering who said it I took it to mean that. He is known for changing things by peaceful protests. Wasn't that how he did it ? Which like I said, it's nice if it works.
Tyrants always fall. History has proven. No matter how powerful they seem, no matter how deeply they entrench themselves, their reigns inevitably crumble. But then, after a period of time, new ones come along to do the same thing. The cycle continues and needs to be stopped.
We don't suck we are just "human", a species created like all other species from millions of years of evolution. This is why we repeat the same mistakes over and over again.
Free will is an illusion and any "choice" we make is a product of nature and nurture. Moreover reason is a slave of the passions and cannot be any other way. Think about it - behind every decision there is a value which are the realm of the irrational. It is difficult to accept so we create myths.

The rich were busy partying and spending. The King refused to tax them.
It did not end well for the aristocracy. ππΌ

Perhaps this is the best argument for HERstory!!
This, too, shall pass.
