Another experienced manager on my team received the same notice. Other senior career officials across DOJ had received the same notice on Inauguration Day, and some, including two additional career leaders in CRT, received it after I received mine.

In all, more than 15 senior career officials were reassigned to this working group. Many accepted the reassignment, and some resigned. We do not know why we were reassigned; we all have theories, and the reasons probably differ for each of us.

The DoJ deserves what it’s getting. Career officials who knew Trump had to be prosecuted on day one could have revolted against Garland’s indecisiveness but they just went along. The leopard eats all faces regardless.
