That's really cool, and those flagstones look great. Personally, I think getting little background details like them looking great really sets off and enhances the rest of the painting on the actual model

I agree, if you're putting effort into the model, then cutting corners anywhere shows, even on the bases.

This really made me chuckle as an example of the huge gulf between our abilities.
For you, _not_ doing that is "cutting corners" whereas for me, somehow managing to do something half as good as those flagstones is "miraculous", hahaha

Thanks! I got them on the table last week finally, in a 1k game against Death Guard, which was fun!

Blade Champion and Wardens made a mess of a unit of Blightlords and Lord of Virulence. I'm taking them for a spin at 1500 in a couple of weeks time too
