I really think it's because social media is like a drug for some, where even if something is bad for you, it's hard to kick it.

I've been watching a few videos lately and tuning into Reddit posts and it shows how depressing the internet is and how toxic social media has become.

For Gen Z and A, it's shown how it's made people for less social, and as someone in the furry community, someone brought up how people are either too introverted, or so narcissistic that trying to engage with them is like trying to deal with a physically abused animal.

This isn't even political. Because people are genuinely more hateful and toxic these days, like to a bad degree.

It makes being on social media kinda a chore because why engage when it. Even BlueSky won't be a haven forever, someone mentioned that the OF porn bots are starting to come here.

Even though I'm a millennial, I sound like an old boomer, but even as a teenager I never cared for social media, but as an adult, I honestly hate it.

I do believe that social media is a cancerous plague and that sounds extreme, and we'd be better off without it infecting any facet of our lives.

I think the problem is that people treat bluesky/twitter like a second home, a community they spend their whole day in, when it's a distraction at most

the "it's boring" problem would be nonexistent otherwise i feel
