I've become so disinterested in multiverse stories these days and I'm not talking about drawing inspiration from something or using it as a background setpiece to inform the context of the story... Rather storylines that require you to engage with 50 previous titles to understand the text 💀

So true the stories feel lackluster and more like "content" 😔
It's a universe definitely but my goal is to NOT have people needing to read 50 things to understand it. It's connected but I'd like to give the choice.
We need more choices ^^
I think it gets too far when EVERYTHING is at stakes all the time. Feels like doom-doom-gloom and not so fun to enjoy anymore.
In case we're not, I do think that using a multiverse (different versions of same settings or characters) to introduce new ideas or characters into the main universe is narratively lame
