Any acquisition is ordinarily subject to taxation, why should this be exempt? Inheritance Tax is particularly useful not only for tax revenues, but for redistribution of wealth & limiting inequality. Otherwise assets in the country will only ever serve the elite bloodlines that have always held them
1 - fundamentally, why should any acquisition be subject to taxation? I can see transactions, but should gifts be taxed? Social benefits? Social services?
2 - So it is nothing more than a land grab; raises taxes, force sales of land, redistribute. That's wretched.
