This seems similar to what happened when the Yankees built a new stadium across the street from their old one, on parkland. It’s a great beautiful park now, but for a the duration of construction and a bit after it was less than ideal

Hopefully they won't be allowed to build on the park, listed buildings and age old trees just going to the wall, disgusting if this goes ahead in my opinion, although money talks

I understand that view, if they do it the right way I think it'd create a lush new part of the city strawberry all the way up to a new stadium that isn't just for football.

Even IF it wasn't a grade II listed area, it would mean a building site for 5 years to build then to "develop" a park area elsewhere, it's horrific to be honest and not something I would back at all

I get it; this is the sort of project that splits opinions. Personally think the benefits to the city over the next couple of decades outweigh the drawbacks, but that's just my opinion
