In other news. Swedish minesweeper M77 has spent a good part of the day doing something close to what I believe is Aurora, a brand new comms cable. Their words: "Super mega fiber cable"

Yi Peng 3 passed that exact spot. Probably worth more investigation. Not sure the cable is even operating yet.

Interesting seems to be latency changes for example https://bsky.app/profile/xeiaso.net/post/3lbctrg63ds22 reported one significant change observed between Finland and Germany. Not sure if the observation changed (whatever small issue) or if it’s since then all the time (maybe related to these cables)

The keen observer will notice the tracks does not perfectly cover the curly purple cable. So, might be wrong. Or the chart is just a bit wrong which is also likely.
