Military-size drones have been flying night-time missions over strategic installations in NW Germany last 2 weeks.
Sightings are confirmed by German armed forces. Security sources suspect they came from North Sea or possibly Baltic Sea and are of Russian origin.
Targets: mil bases, ports, LNG.

Besides, WW1 started by someting simple as shooting a Duke. Do you want to escalate a drone recce into WW3?
I'm not buying the excuses in this thread for not shooting them down. To me it's the same old lack of determination that we have seen for the last three years. The fear of "escalating". This lack of will is embarrassing and show to it's full extent european weakness.
I'm just trying to think what putin’s response was to Turkey shooting down the fighter jet…
Oh yes, there were none. You have to show strength as that's the only thing he recognises!
We do not know how they tracked them and what actions they took or could take, because they do not want us and the adversary to know.
Some theoretical research places electrical powerplant endurance for such plane at 2.5h. Fuel based model airplanes have crossed atlantic.

I looked up and apparently gps autopilot for RC plane costs around 100eur. Gasoline motor 350 or so. Apparently you can get 2m wingspan fiberglass body for 200+
How much longer can we ignore what’s right in front of us?
Me guess.
Ukraine has only recently become the enemy. To build a sattelite to cover that you need tech that is under embargo now.

Military operational planning is a bit more than: "hey a drone, let's kill it"
Ask the Ukrainians for help, they may know
Even if they were allowed. it is never a smart move to show a potential enemy how you down drones before the conflict, they will adapt.
Better start downing them now.
And don't forget, #Russia starts to struggle in a war of attrition, so the more of their assets become destroyed the better it is overall.
