As often happens with studios bought out by big companies bioware has been slowly hollowed out, they've had tons of people leaving due to burnout and leadership changes already. I wouldn't be surprised if EA shuts it down in the next few years.

No lie. Hit it out of the park the first time. Second game had super interesting DLC on a meh game with two really great characters. Inquisition was just a slog.

didnt have a lot of games growing up, but I had inquisition for the 360. it was the first and only dragon age game I played. I've heard some good shit about the franchise, but inquisition was a terrible introduction to the series

Origins isn't super expensive these days, and it's got a scope and world that's sized just right. It's very much the final iteration of isometric lite-tactics games like BG 1&2, so it has a relatively slow pace with a banger of a world.

It was a relatively deep story for its time, allowed you to make morally gray decisions (not just black and white), and had bunch of really worthwhile DLC that meaningfully contributed to the lore.

Also, it had relatively souls-like lore acquisition, which was great for geeks like me
