But why? What's wrong with advocating clear communication? Did you actually get a PhD without understanding the danger of easily falsifiable blanket statements? There is strength in truth. Lies hide in hyperbole.
To take your example of racism, your first concern should be the people subject to racism, not upsetting white people! If someone says ‘white people are racists’, your response should be ‘okay how do we fix this issue’, not a defensive reply like ‘not all white people!’ Focus on what’s important
