Cody vs Roman at Wrestlemania 40 was just a good match. As great as all the cameos were having Mark Calaway (Not as the Undertaker) show up at the end didn’t make too much sense and took away from the ending.
The NXT women's division is not the best in all of wrestling and is pretty rough at times. They have the most women on TV, I will give them that, but a lot of the stories and dialogue are really bad. Vaquer and Guilia benefitted from cool videos in their native language and Zaria got sitcom hijinks.
Stephanie Vaquer and Guilia benefitted from English being a second language because WWE recognizes it would be hard to put them in many backstage segments, so they get cool videos and in ring segments in front of fans who love them and everyone else gets badly written dialogue and high school drama.
Sorry for ranting, haha. Stephanie Vaquer is probably one of the top 10 best wrestlers in the company, and I will give WWE credit for pushing her. She has great presence and this quiet confidence, but imagine if she was doing the Full House sitcom gimmick with Sol Ruca instead?
Bron Breakker has the potential to be a modern day Stone Cold Steve Austin, where he's booked like a face but talks and wrestles like a heel. We're at the start of something really special with him.
Wrestling would’ve survived post-Attitude Era if it weren’t for Triple H, Undertaker, and “wrestling the right way” getting shoved down everyone’s throats, and a Danielson/Nigel led major company with competent creative would’ve had sustainable mainstream success if it could avoid the carnies.
TNA’s desperate need for Russo’s involvement played as much of a role in destroying wrestling’s mainstream credibility as the painfully boring and sad Evolution-led time period. Gabe Sapolsky with the backing Jarrett had would’ve been more successful.
Stephanie Vaquer and Guilia have done more harm than good since arriving in NXT. The women’s division was fine without them, but since their arrival a lot of women have been put on the back burner and aren’t showcased enough. NXT wanted to put titles on them ASAP, and didn’t care if it made sense.
That promo yesterday was tough to watch. Say what you will about Chatlotte, but she destroyed Tiffany. Tiffany looked uncomfortable repeating memorized talking points while Charlottt came off as a natural. In ring Tiffany is ready for her main event push, but on mike she's not quite there yet.
Yeah, you could practically see the teleprompter for poor Tiffy. But Charlotte was yes anding everything Tiffany said, will Tiffany was sticking to the scriptm Maybe they should teach improv at the performance center on top of the physical training.
I’ve gotten a number of new folks into wrestling (some casual, some now mega fans) and the thing that’s most likely to attract new fans is charismatic people with easily digestible gimmicks and flashy, unbelievable spots. Story is important but it’s not what makes people look up from their phones
I think, especially on bluesky, my opinion that might get that reaction would be Jon Moxley is the worst wrestler ever. I mean he can't wrestle, he can't brawl and he bleeds, his promos are incomprehensible and every angle he's in is atrocious, also Osreay is overrated by a weird man.
He bores the shit out of me that guy and kenny omega. Imagine thinking these clowns are better than Bret Hart because dave bloody meltzer likes them? Another one is Okada after years of "oh he's so good" it turns out he isn't, he's just shit.
It could have been me watching that match without following the whole feud, but from watching just the pre-match package and the match, i couldn't BELIEVE the crowd turned on Trish, and it soured the match for me. I also thought the storyline was icky and the finish was bad. But that's me!
I was at this Wrestlemania. The biggest reason we turned on her was because of how long she had held the title and how boring that run was. At that point, she had held it for a little over a year and hadn't done much with it. Mickie was someone new. That was most of it.
My stance that using Michael Jackson tribute wrestler Santana Jackson is gross and disturbing. It's not funny. Michael Jackson sexually abused children.
We don't have Bill Cosby or OJ Simpson tribute acts in the ring for an obvious reason. Don't book Santana; don't make Michael Jackson a good guy
Wwe is not an Extension of the crappy us gov. Linda hasnt been involved with wwe in years.
& anyones specific political affiliation doesnt have anything to do with wwe as a product. Trumps involvement with wwe ended way before his 1st run as pres. (Cont)
I will say again cause this is what I was referring to: anyones specific political affiliation doesnt have anything to do with wwe as a product. Do you see political storylines in this day and age in wwe? No you do not.
The people producing the product certainly have a political affiliation, and if you’re willing to overlook those things, then I don’t know what to tell you. Different standards, it seems.
I'm just 1 of those people who recognize that politics are bad for people's mental health. So I choose not to see it everywhere. I feel sorry for those of you who let the bullshit bleed into something you supposedly love.
You prove my point. A good amount of your posts are politics. I will say, being informed and learning about politics is not inherently bad. But it's gotten so toxic, it is terrible for a person's mental health.
1) Jay Uso has more than earned his push
2) Tribalism in Pro Wrestling is stupid and counterproductive. Unless you have a financial stake in a promotion, attendanc, ratings and PPV buys are immaterial. For wrestling to remain healthy we need every promotions to have it's audience and grow
There are legitimate reasons to like and dislike all promotions for both on screen and behind the scenes. But damn there are people in the IWC rooting for the promotions they dislike to fail, and that's odd. A rising tide lifts all ships. I watch more WWE then AEW, I prefer their in house style.
Neither am I, but just as a rising tide lifts all ships, a sinking ship drags everything around it down with it. AEW being a monopoly would be bad for the industry.
3) While Vince McMahon's aggressive push to go national hurt the industry. WCW and ECW's failures and TNA's struggles are not just due to WWE's efforts to monopolize the industry. Bad management did more harm than any counterprograming from WWE could
4) Davel Meltzer's tastes in wrestling is so predictable that his star rating system is pointless to engage in. Reviews are not just a yay or nay if something is good or bad, they should stand as a writen work on their own. Ebert's movie reviews are good because he's a good writer not star ratings
Dominic should beat Gunther for the WHC and become the new "Houdini of the Heavyweights", taking on the old Crash Holly role and having a year long reign. (this is unpopular in my friend circles, who are all Jey fans, but has been my opinion since Gunther was wearing the IC belt)

Bloodline storyline is good
but if WWE was an actual soap, it would have been canceled years ago - even Frank Valentini's #GH is great by comparison

say you like anime, right? if you like one piece but not dragon ball z, nobody says "omg support all anime, stop being a tribalist".
why is wrestling different?
i'm not a trumper, why would i want one of his biggest supporters to thrive? especially when they've gone so mask off about it lately
they make sure of it.
