My mom mentioned that she thinks my sister has PTSD from being pregnant and she asked me if I was on the spectrum.

I can imagine. I worked there for 2 years, left and went back earlier this year. I was the only Black clinician there for a minute. I’m needed there, but the next time I leave I won’t be going back. I think I want to get into macro work involving prison reform

So much work to do!!!!! I was a DV therapist for over 10 years. I see myself training/consulting in that area. Specifically DV in Black and Brown communities. That and prison reform/talking about mental health treatment in prison will keep me BUSY. Just gotta work through this fear!

This sort of thing is so pervasive and the trauma so consistent that “you” don’t even notice it anymore. It’s just part of the environment. Background radiation is the radiation that’s always there as part of the universe existing. So, of course people aren’t going to see it because it’s just THERE

this omg! finally receiving EMDR therapy opened my eyes to so many different layers of suffering that not only i was going through, but my loved ones. *especially* the other black women i know :( and we just live life like that. it’s heartbreaking
