Not to add insult to injury, but I increasingly find that when I proudly show off my Crow and Servo, I have to follow up with an explanation of who they are in the first place

I sometimes put on MST3K while I'm cooking. When my son saw it for the first time, he laughed and said "They're changing the story!" I don't think he's seen an episode start to finish, but he knows the show by name.
The base is the same as mine. I think the creators name was Slab_Riprock on eBay? I can’t find them anymore actually. They did runs of Servo and Crow both painted and as unpainted kits you built yourself.
Same guy: Bob Bukowski. He built the bots for the Netflix seasons and had a side hustle on eBay & Etsy. He seems to come and go. I bought my Servo kit in 2019, then he disappeared for a few years. When he finally returned, I ordered Crow, and had to wait over a year for him to deliver
I had a similar experience. I think he was dealing with health issues along side building the bots for Netflix. I had to email him a couple times to get a response regarding my Crow. I completely understood why, I just wish he'd communicated. But the craftsmanship is as top notch as cheese puffs.
Agreed. Crow’s hockey mask came out a little wonky, but after waiting a year for delivery I was so glad to finally have him at all that I just let it go - and the rest of the craftsmanship was top notch
Good luck: unfortunately the seller (Bob Bukowski, who also built the bots for the Netflix series) is pretty unreliable. He seems to list them on Etsy and eBay only when he feels like it, and if you do order, he doesn't exactly rush. He had my money over a year before Crow finally got delivered
Look at it this way - you get to introduce them to MST3K. You get to make a new fan out of them. That's something any fan can feel pride in themselves for.
