Whorephobia is super real and one thing a lot of queer and leftist organizers online miss is that these tactics are tested on sex workers precisely because they’re often unsympathetic victims. We allow their repression not thinking it’ll come for us. But it will. We’re in this together.

I'm pro-sex-work, but struggle against a lot of internalized shame around discussing sexual topics. Doesn't help that I spent many years as a children's librarian, where any hint of personal sexuality is verboten. Think teachers who were fired for writing erotica on the side. Tough to balance.

I don't work as a children's librarian anymore, but every time I post something in support of anything sexual, I wonder whether I am stopping myself from ever holding a job like that again. Maybe. Maybe not. I'm not staying silent now, though, because I can't let it get worse than it already is.

I also worry slightly about the anti-sex undercurrent in Western lolita fashion. But I've done my Gothic & Lolita Bible Study homework. I know sexy aesthetics like harnesses are compatible with lolita, regardless of what anyone says about "modesty". Lolita neither requires sex nor forbids it.

There's still balance required. Many asexual lolitas find power in a non-sexualized fashion. And many creeps have pushed sex into lolita where it wasn't wanted. But surely there is still room for personal expression? idk, I just worry about being rejected for daring to acknowledge sex & wear lolita.
