why they got so popular. When we look back to Destiny PS1 we've only really got slight implications on the characters' real thoughts and how he got to be the jackass we saw. By the time we got to D2 and finished that adventure we saw a man who looked at all his past mistakes and sought to atone,

He's able to do this in a way that feels like solid progression, like an actual human being. Truthfully I feel Leon (PS1) and the change as man with Judas uplifts his character greatly

Let's use Ras, for example. Had we had more interactions with him, he'd likely be more remembered. He has a solid role in the story, but because he's hardly there throughout the story, it's truthfully hard to care a significant amount about him.

Though to be fair to the other characters of the troupe, Leon did have two games where his character was fleshed out. Still though, Leon is one of the best characters in the series.
