From 1772 to 1783 Mary Delany made 985 intricate & botanically accurate floral mosaics out of paper. They were the precursors of the collage style of #art. In a letter to her niece, Mary said she had invented a new way of imitating flowers. #FolkloreSunday @britishmuseum
