Finally finished it. Great episode. I think more than most games I've played, this is one of the more interesting ones to hear about from different perspectives. There's so much to unpack and I loved hearing you talk about it (and find out that Ocelot actually waited around the corner).

I had some time yesterday to listen a bit. Loved hearing both of your personal stories on how you started out with MGS1 and 2. I think it's as different and still very similar at the same time for many others. The bait and switch sure had an impact that way.

Best in the series in my opinion (closely followed by 3). Truly prophetic stuff, and the tanker level demo from the Zone of the Enders game is a core memory for me. Will check this out.

I loved how MGS 1 game encouraged stealth where you can sneak around and behind your enemies, rough them a bit, and then break their necks rather than killing them in an open gun fight. I liked how in MGS 2 you can switch to 1st person and tell them to freeze and search them or just shoot them.

Honestly the Vol 1. collection is a solid way to play it, they've really put in the work. It played beautifully. Occasionally I go back to the original PS2 verstion though, it's still awesome.

Also, I’d like to put my two cents in about the absurdity of twin snakes. Yes the other games have things like a man running on water, but before twin snakes it was always the world that snake was observing. Twin snakes was when they started giving snake the crazy stuff.
