When I first saw Super Mario Bros at a friend's house in 1986 or seeing arcade machines at the bowling alley, I was transfixed. You...you can control the character? It blew my mind.
Same here. I chose my video games over a LOT of things in life. Sadly, my devotion to video games might be one of the key reasons why I've never had a girlfriend. It's near impossible to find a woman who shares my gaming passion. And the last thing I want is someone who doesn't have interest. 😒
Not sure the majority of people on earth would know what to do without Video Games. They've become a staple in life much like phones, the internet, music, TV and motorised transport. We "could" live without them, but like yourself, would we want to?
True that
Like we say, we'd probably survive without any of those "first world things" Might have to in the future?... 🤔 but all things considered, humans can adapt to situations quite well, or atleast most of us 😅 so going back to routs would have some benefits perhaps. Quite an interesting study
I think sometime ago I read about an Irish banker who actually quitted modern life and just embrace the wood life. It appears to be possible, but yeah it needs some strong mind if you want to hard switch like that.
Same...I need my games to survive. The MCU as well. NTs might never understand it but my games & shows & movies are just as integral to my life as food & air
In the time before video games, the only things to do were read and watch TV. You had to leave your house to obtain books to read, and there were only three TV channels.
I like to think I'd have more money lol. Then I think, no, I'd likely find something else to take up my time and that thing will be so much more expensive 😂
Yeah, the only way I could imagine it would be to be filthy rich and be able to never work and just enjoy every other hobby imaginable. But I'd rather be filthy rich and play video games all day...

It really depends. if the situation dictates, you might have to live without them. Some people dont have the luxury of wasting 60 bucks that easily.

I know I would've finished Animorphs if Pokémon Blue didn't seduce me in 6th grade, lol
But would I be happier, losing my favorite hobby? Considering that Sonic and FF7 inspired me to draw and write, maybe not.
STARE AT THE WALL? That's what it feels like to imagine a life without games.
I would be a lot more productive though (sitting in front of the TV for too long is a no go) but a lot less happy and entertained for sure.
I dunno. I was too busy playing video games to pay attention to stuff growing up.
They are my happy place.
