First speaker of this session: Dr Paula Muhr on 'it's all in your head'. LC is not FND but often comflated with it. Fnd is still associated what Freud used to call 'hysteria' and all the stuff re: secondary gain also comes from Freud. So, fnd isn't in people's heads, and neither is LC.

2: Ronja Büchner Very nice talk showing unpublished data on psychologization in pwLC. I won't show the slides, but one tidbit: medical Drs are most likely to psychologise and it's associated with worse outcomes.
This doesn't mean psychology is useless but they should know their supportive role.

3: prof. Georg Schomerus. What is it that provokes this response to a severe and unpleasant disorder? Through the lens of stigma: keeping people in, keeping people down, fear of contagion. This is all applicable to lc (see slides). He doesn't mention literal contagion but I feel it applies too.

4: prof. Vivienne Boon. Demedicalization, while intended to liberate, had unexpected side effects. Bps was intended as a neoliberal cost saving measure. Bps killed and still kills pwME. Lc raises several philosophical questions.

Q&a: hard to follow but it was basically about how the pandemic isn't over yet, abs how negative effects of SARS-CoV-2 are incorrectly attributed to lockdowns. Lc pts and masks are a visible reminder that the pandemic isn't over yet.
