Being a woman in a patriarchy sucks, and cis/afab women need to grasp that trans women aren't gonna "change their minds" when they experience the same treatment from men that cis women do, and the idea they transition to prey on women is absurd and cruel. We're all sisters in this together.

It doesn't have to be this way! I remember from a young age that all around me patriarchy was MADE, it's not inherent. You have to threaten and condition and abuse and harass people into these molds to maintain the framework. And it's so, so complete people believe it's inherent and biological.

Shouldn't have to say this but I spent my teens and twenties being harassed be strangers, family, and friends. Sometimes more explicitly sexual and sometimes less, but invasive comments, snide insinuations, and overt threats were common. Laying hands on me was not unknown.

What really happened in the above? A vulnerable woman went to a friend and confident she shares intimate space with and allowed herself to be vulnerable, only to be told "guess nobody told you about being a woman. bet it's rough when you're not the predator, huh." The roommate is unsafe.
